Quick and easy Joloff rice is a weekday favorite in our household! I am often asked the question how to make a simple quick and easy joloff rice and I came up with a base sauce that will make everyone’s life a bit easier. The secret is in the Sauce!

Ingredients
1 Jar (16 oz) of Afro Fusion Cuisine Joloff Sauce 1 (1/2 cup)yellow onion minced 1 tbs of fresh parsley and 1 tbs of fresh basil minced 1 tbs of Afro Fusion cuisine Curry or any sweet curry of your choice ( Optional) 1.5 cup of Jasmine riced parboiled , cooked and cooled ( make sure your rice is not overly done- stop cooking about 5 minutes less than time required by your standard recipe as your rice will finish cooking in the Joloff sauce) 1 tbs of vegetable oil Salt and pepper to taste
Optional ingredients ( Sweet peppers (yellow, Green, Red), Green Beans, and your choice of meat finely sliced.
Directions
1. In a deep pot over your stovetop, heat oil and brown your onion , add any optional veggies or meat you have chosen, then herbs and cook until those become tender
2. Add your joloff Sauce and let simmer
3. Add your rice and stir and reduce the fire to very low to allow the rice to soak and absorb the Joloff sauce liquid ( about 7-10 minutes. Using a fork, separate (fluff) the grains of rice and turn off the fire
4. Serve with warm!
